The Reading 2050 project was established in 2013 to develop a long-term strategic vision supporting Reading's growth and prosperity and ensuring a truly smart and sustainable city. Through a series of workshops with organisations and individuals across Reading and the Thames Valley region an economically viable future vision is emerging. Most recently a group of over 40 undergraduate students participated in the "Drawing the city" session in which they visualised images for Reading. Following that exercise, and as the project continues towards it's concluding vision document, due to be launched in 2017, this event is an opportunity for students and construction professionals to meet and discuss what their role in the future of Reading will be. What can we each contribute to delivering the Vision and what is needed from others across the industry? 5pm for 5.30 start. Free to CE Members and all students. Refreshments included.
