Project Tempo, the former 3Mobile headquarters in the centre of Maidenhead, is a £40m refurbishment to deliver a high-end office building, being delivered by ISG Construction on behalf of Legal and General.
The scheme is a heavy cut & carve refurbishment, stripping back to the existing steel frame, removing the roof, extending upward in new steel frame to form a new floor level and partially infilling the former atria spaces to maximise Nett Lettable Area.
Significant structural challenges have been encountered since commencement on site, requiring the whole project team to innovate to find solutions whilst minimising the impact to programme. A new high-end, complex façade is being installed to radically improve the building’s appearance. Legal and General’s aspiration is for a highly sustainable building, with BREEAM Outstanding, NABARS 3* and embodied carbon levels compliant with LETI 2030 targets – all significant challenges to achieve with a refurbishment of an existing building.
The ISG project team invite you for a presentation on the challenges encountered to date and how we are achieving the sustainability requirements, followed by a site tour of this exciting yet complex project.
