Constructing Excellence Berkshire would like to invite you to a tour of The Wing in Henley-on-Thames, the home of British watchmaking and main headquarters of the Bremont Watchmaking Company.
Completed in 2020, the building was designed by Spratley & Partners to embody Bremont’s three key principles of Aviation, Engineering and Innovation. This has resulted in a building that is both luxurious and functional, with the main accommodation split between the administration ‘wing’ resembling an aerofoil structure, and a watchmaking ‘wing’ featuring a strict dust-free and acoustically controlled manufacturing environment, linked by a central boutique showroom space nestling in between. The building overlooks the Black Bears Polo Club fields, and capitalises on its scenic setting with large amounts of glazing capturing commanding views of the Thames Valley. The scheme achieved BREEAM Excellent, and was voted Project of the Year at the 2022 OxProp awards.
The day will start with a welcome in the mezzanine lounge and bar area from 9am for teas/coffees and pastries, followed by a tour of 10no. people starting at approximately 10am. Each tour will last approximately 1.5 - 2 hours, and will give visitors a chance to see all of the key spaces in the building, including the admin and design areas, the manufacturing centre containing 5-axis milling machines and other fabrication equipment, and the watchmaking assembly and service maintenance workshops, culminating in a visit to the Bremont Boutique display space.
The tour will be led by Bremont staff, and Spratley & Partners staff will be on-hand to answer any questions about the construction process.
Parking will be available on-site for visitors, and the building is approximately a 20-minute walk from Henley-on-Thames railway station.
